WELCOME

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Melbourne for the 20th International Symposium on Mathematical Theory of Networks and Systems.

Given there is such a great interest in networks, both from an applied as well as fundamental theoretical perspective, it is hard to imagine a more timely or topical MTNS than this 20th in Melbourne.

As always at MTNS our prime objective is to see the beautiful mathematical structures that underpin our understanding of networks, systems and networked systems. This peer-reviewed conference is however interdisciplinary in nature, and we thank our colleagues from many different disciplines for their contributions to MTNS 2012.

It is a pleasure to acknowledge our sponsors: the University of Melbourne, and the School of Engineering in particular, as well as the Australian Mathematical Society, NICTA and Springer.

Thank you for allowing us to be your hosts for MTNS 2012.

Welcome to the University of Melbourne campus!
